The Past
History of the Bahamas Mission
-The Thirty year effort began in 1981. There were three congregations in the
Islands. Now there are twelve with others to be established in the near future. The
effort will extend beyond the original estimate.
-More than two thousand have been baptized. This is an established and
successful effort.
-The Church is well known as the "People Who Give Away the New
Testaments".
-We have access to the Schools for teaching and Bible Study materials distribution.
-Most established congregations have Bahamian Preachers.
-We are training Preachers and Teachers in the local congregations. A few are sent to
Jamaica School of Preaching. (Most who come to America do not return).
-We have an effective Testament and Bible Study distribution program in
an area where twelve or more people will read each piece. (Mission Printing in Arlington,
Texas).
-We are now building on the foundations laid over the years.
-Local churches are evangelistic.
-The Family Islands are growing and developing providing new opportunities for
evangelism.
- We have a strong base of support that can be expanded by additional contacts.
