Copies from Gladwyn Kiddoe and Alex Altidor. I am just passing on the information. The Elders in Nassau Bahamas have also mounted an effort from the Bahamas that is under way. Information on that effort was given on the 14th.

Let me know if I can help in any way.

Dear Brethren,

Jamaica is less than 200 miles from the western shores of Haiti and has always had a close bond with that country. The earthquake (7.1 units) that affected Haiti also hit Jamaica at level of 5.7 and shook many buildings including the Mona and Morant Bay COC Church buildings without creating damage. Our response is to say thank God and jump to the assistance of the the people of Haiti.

In this regard a relief team has been set up in Jamaica to help organize relief efforts on behalf of the COC worldwide

The Jamaican relief team has met and the first relief effort into Haiti will take place shortly. The team is comprised of Michael Dehaney Chairman (Evangelist Morant Bay church of Christ), Francis Yorke (Deputy Director JSP Alphonso Grennel (Businessman and a leader at the Mona COC) , Federick Hicher (Haitian student intern at the JSP) and Gladwyn Kiddoe(JSP Director).

The relief effort will be largely directed through the Dominican Republic and then by road into Port-Au-Prince and other affected areas. A small continent from Jamaica will travel on this mission.

In addition relief help will be taken in by boat and/or plane from Jamaica as such means of travel become accessible A bank account to garner donations from Jamaican and overseas churches of Christ has been opened at the National Commercial Bank, Liguanea Branch, Kingston, Jamaica in the name of

Dear Brethren,

Greetings in the name, the blessed name of our Lord Jesus-Christ our soon coming King. It is my hope and prayer that all is well with you at this present moment. My apology once again for being late with the month of Dec. 2009. My computer was down for sometime along with my printer. The Gros-Morne Church-of-Christ truly expressing our gratitude towards everyone who is a part of thebody of Christ. Those Brethren who've committed themselves in giving their supports and prayers on every hand to the saints in Gros-Morne. The year 2009 was an excellent year in respect of the good march and progress of the Gros-Morne Congregation, which actually of an effective of 80 solid members in Christ+Jesus, through the year 2009. Everything went well and we were indeed blessed. In fact we've covered the entire year 2009 without any major difficulties. The month of December was an excited one. We do not cease to thank God for not having violent hurricanes coming our way this year. We had street meetings during the last three(3) days of the year from Tuesday 29 through Thursday 31. We sang songs of praises into the Lord. We preached, we teach and ate together overall we had an additional of 4 converts right after the Gospel meetings, it was a great end of year festivities. We also thank Bro. Alex Jean Altidor our devoted minister abroad whom made lots of sacrifices while relaying us with other Congregations who credit us for the good work that is taking place in the Gros-Morne vicinity.

[Translated from the Church-of-Christ in Gros-Morne,Haiti]

January 1st, 2010 therefore was a New Year and we all were hoping for the best when suddenly Haiti yet laying in the mysterious shadow of the unknown. Just a week and a half past and when unpredictably on Tuesday the 12th, around 5 PM, a very powerful and destructive earthquake rocked back and forth the land of Haiti mainly the capital city of Port-Au-Prince to dust and rubles. Brethren we have a saying in the Haitian Creole "There is a mouth, but there is no word". The situation is disastrous. On this catastrophic event let it be known to all that Gros-Morne is mourning for majority of the young people whom were sent by their parents to Port-Au-Prince to continue their classical studies, they all perished in a common building institution that came down. Let's not forget also that there are brothers and sisters who lost close relatives in this circumstance. I also, Bro. Alex, lost a few relatives who were living some 100 ft near the National Palace. It was reported by Bro. Wisner Vixama through a phone call directly from Haiti that sister Celine St.Vil is alive, a very dear and faithful sister who left Gros-Morne Congregation, 6 months ago, and lived in Port-Au-Prince by the encouragement of her daughter who live in Freeport. She has been calling me day and night to find out if her mother was lucky enough to come out of this drastic situation alive. In the meantime, Bro. Wisner Vixama, little sister is still on the search, and we do hope that she is covered under the grace of God, while everybody is expecting to hear from her. I am appealing to you, dear Brethren at Freeport, Grand Bahama to continue to extend your hands and your hearts to the Gros-Morne Congregation and other individuals who drastically affected by such monstrous event. I know actually the world main focus is on Port-Au-Prince and that is true, but don't forget those in the countryside who have no means of communications, for it is not accessible to travel to the capital which was considered as the source of life, so to speak. Therefore I recommend your help immediately by sending funds, in the first place to the people of Gros-Morne for survival sake. And next, additional funds to enable me to quickly start to buy here in Miami, the products of first necessities to ship to them, such as rice, beans, sugar, oil, tin milk, soap, toilet paper, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and else to be shipping in barrels. Please let's make a quick move. In conclusion, let us continue to pray and to join our hands, our hearts, and shoulders in this endeavor.

Yours in Christ, Brother Alex Altidor for the People of Haiti Please pray for the New Haiti to come.

Keep these people in your prayers.
