Time is filled with many changes. I was saddened yesterday with the news of the death of old friend Byron Nelson at 94. His mother Madge and his oldest son were both members where I preached in Texas many years ago. He was a gentleman and a great role model. He told me that he would never accept a Sunday morning T time when he was on tour. I remember many a nice lunch at his Mother's home and his visits in between his work on "Shell's Wonderful World Of Golf".

Dinah got a good report from her Doctor and can reduce the amount of medicine she is taking. Her condition is aggravated by flying, and she now only has to use the drops when she flies. She is delighted to be able to reduce the amount of steroids she is taking after heavy doses for four months.Thank you for all the prayers and contacts. The condition is not gone, but greatly improved as is her hearing.

In the Islands we have been blessed thus far this Hurricane Season. A lower than usual Jet Stream and high pressure off the East Coast has turned the storms out to the North. Our hearts and prayers go out to those who have been affected by various disasters world wide. When you have been affected so many times, news stories of damage to homes and lives become very real.We continue to watch and pray as our Hurricane Season does not end until December 1.

The Church is Abaco is making some progress on the Church building upgrade, thanks mostly to the work of Jason Quashi in taking up the old 20 year old plus carpet and replacing it with tile in the hall and classroom areas. The tile looks great and is much more durable when Hurricanes cause flooding. The men have been very diligent in visiting on Thursday nights and getting some who had been slack in attendance back to services and encouraging some who were weak and sick. Jason continues his radio program on the local FM station.

The Church in Freeport continues to have many Bible Studies and report 3 baptisms in the past few weeks. Plans are underway already for the Annual Mission Day which they started and host each year in November. They also have continued their monthly "Bring Your Friend Day". This month they had set a goal of 170, and had 214 in attendance. The radio program hosted by James Miller is heard not only in Freeport, but over the Northern Bahamas.

Steve McQueen has begun a local radio program in Exuma. The work there continues to develop. Starting a new work in various parts of this Island nation is always a struggle. We are not well known." Family Churches" are well established, we meet in a borrowed building and do not show a great deal of permanence. This means that we do not attract a lot of people. Steve and those who support this work have reached out to the community and to the schools and with a number of great programs like the Summer Youth Day Camp have opened many doors.Steve is very active in community affairs. Continue to pray for Steve and Suzette and others of our families who serve in remote areas with very little local encouragement. If any of you would like to buy a copy of Steve's recent book, contact me for information.

Remember also the Deveaux family in Cat Island and Donald Burrows and family in Long Island. The economy in many of these areas is poor and sin in many forms is still as strong as in areas that are thriving.

Lincoln Young continues to reach out in the community working with young people and their families. He serves with the Commissioner (Like an Island Governor) on the Youth Counsel and does a lot of counseling with students from many surrounding schools. This opens doors and gives him opportunity to study with many people.

Other congregations in the Islands are working hard. After 25 years, I see a lot of the older members aging, and leadership being taken over by younger members who have matured in both years and faith. There are many success stories and also some who have fallen by the way. This was true even in New Testament times.

The plane is doing good right now. I have just put on new tires and tubes and brakes. Our life raft and life jackets have been sent in for the annual certification. This means that they have to be inflated and stay up for as much as 72 hours before they are deflated and repacked. These are items we have never used, and hope we never do, but have to be kept in top shape for safety and peace of mind.

We are thankful for your support and prayers. Checks can be made to Bahama Mission Church of Christ, and sent:
