I am sure that a number of you saw the three page spread on the Lord's work in the Bahamas in a recent Christian Chronicle. Kevin Wooten brought us a copy when he came down to Freeport with a group of seventeen "spring breakers" from the University of Kentucky. We appreciated hearing the good comments long before we knew what you were talking about. Kevin and the fine group he brought were involved over the week with painting the inside of the auditorium and the foyer of the Freeport building that had been used on several occasions as a shelter for as many as 300 during recent Hurricanes. This group also worked on school grounds, worked with homes for the aged and a children's home. They had one day to enjoy the sights of the Island. Then back to work on some homes of members before the delightful Friday evening fellowship with the local brethren. Keven also taught some fine lessons on Parenting There were two baptisms following the Friday evening devotional. We are thankful to Kevin and each of those who gave up their holiday period to make a difference.

Lincoln Young and the brethren in Rock Sound are working hard to complete damage repairs from the past two years, before Hurricane season starts again in just less than three months. Like the Gulf Coast of the United States, there is still so much to do about past damage. Abaco is also working on their classroom building to get it completed. The brethren at the Palm Beach Lakes congregation in West Palm Beach are planning a trip to see what they can do to assist. We continue to pray that the 2006 season will treat us all kindly.

Dinah had a little break recently with a trip out to the west coast to visit with family. I missed her being a vital part of our work, but was delighted that she got to rest a little. We really appreciate Terry and Emma Proctor and their daughter Taylor for their generous expressions of love. I spent some extra time catching up on all of the safety directives for the aircraft. This is time consuming, but gives peace of mind as we fly over the water. Of note is the 104th birthday of Dinah's cousin Clarissa Flenniken in Illinois. She has been a delightful little lady and a real inspiration to so many of us. I stayed busy in her absence with trips to Abaco and Freeport. Jack and Donna Stewart have been down in Abaco helping and plan to come back in June. They have been coming to the Bahamas for many years. Donna rode with me to Freeport early on the Sunday morning for worship and lunch with the group from Kentucky. That was her first trip back to Freeport in four years. The congregation was delighted to see her as she was them.

The Frank Sarvers are back home after completing their 14th year (eight to ten weeks each) of personal work and teaching in Marsh Harbour. They stay busy setting and teaching studies, doing follow-up, teaching classes and encouraging the brethren. They concluded this years sojourn with their annual hot dog feed for the congregation on their last Sunday and by being honored and given gifts by the group on Wednesday evening after class. We are so thankful for their example and dedication to the work in the Bahamas. They finance their own trip and contribute so much to the work.

Steve McQueen recently baptized his neighbor in Exuma. He had been working with this man for some time. We are delighted to see the encouraging growth in this new congregation and pray that we can soon have a place of our own to meet and worship. Plans are well under way for the two weeks of Christian Youth Camp. Some recruiting is being done in Nassau to engage Bahamian brethren in running the camp during the second week. This is a great program and opens so many doors.

One thrilling event took place in Nassau a week ago. Steve Major is a new Christian in Marsh Harbour. He damaged his hand some time back in a work related accident. After the cast was removed he was sent to Nassau for therapy and additional surgery. Brother Bill Miller took him under his wing and with Bill's help he taught and baptized the man with whom he was staying. Steve has expressed a desire to preach, and some thought is being given to sending him to the Jamaica School of Preaching.

The Lord willing, Dinah and I will be traveling the next few days to visit with supporting congregations and making reports on the work. We believe that it is vital to encourage and be encouraged by having fellowship with those who share in this great effort. Acts 14:26-27 serves as a model for missionaries visiting supporting congregations and sharing all that God has done through them in the expanding of the Kingdom. We look forward to seeing many of you.

Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Checks can be made to Bahama Mission Church of Christ, and sent:

We would be remiss if we failed to express our deep appreciation to Danny Osborne CPA, for the many years of volunteer service he has given in keeping the books and making reports on the finances of Bahama Mission. His work has been so vital in giving all of us the peace of mind, that money given to evangelize the Islands, and care for those after Hurricanes has been spent well and accounted for. Our prayers are with Danny and Laurie in the future. This task is being assumed by Raymond Rodriques.Thank you Raymond!
