This is just a quick note to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers while Hurricane Katrina was developing and moving through the Bahamas, also to ask for your prayers as the much larger storm moves into the Gulf Coast at this hour.
Katrina started just off of Long Island Bahamas after sitting off the north end of Puerto Rico as a tropical wave #10 for several days. There was very little concern that it might develop.
Long Island got a little rain and some wind. Katrina then moved up to Cat Island, Eleuthera, and Abaco. Abaco got winds of 45 mph and a good bit of rain. It then moved West to about 90 miles south of Freeport in Grand Bahama and started building strength and moving south west. It crossed Florida just north of Miami and knocked out power to more than a million homes. It did two Billion dollars in damage.
Our hearts go out to the Gulf Coast area and those who will be affected as the storm moves north and east.
We are watching tropical depression # 13.They tell us not to worry, but we keep watching and praying anyway.
Thank you for your prayers and support.
