We are in shock! A tropical storm "Adrian" is moving East out of the Pacific and headed toward the Bahamas. The winds have been gusting to 60 mph. The National Weather people have promised us a very active season. No one can remember a storm coming out of the West and moving East?

We have good news on our seriously ill people discussed in the past. Lincoln Young is doing better and will go back to Nassau to see the Dr. very soon. I recently carried him some medical supplies that are helping him. Frank Sarver is not expected to have chemo or radiation. Bill Miller got the same report! We are most thankful. Dick Parker has had several of his surgeries and just has one more to go. His heart stopped on the table with the carotid artery surgery and he spent three extra days in the hospital, but is home now.

Our dear friend Nancy Pyle from Arkansas is in a coma and nearing the end of her long struggle with cancer. She has been a great servant in her work in the Bahamas. We just received word of the passing of Sylvia Dorries from a heart attack in Point Comfort, Texas. She too was a friend in one of our supporting congregations. Our prayers go out to those families suffering. We are thankful for the prayers of thanksgiving answered concerning those who are recovering.

Lincoln Young has really been busy this past week speaking and being the emcee for a number of special events during National Youth Month in Eleuthera. I am hoping to deliver Lincoln's new backup wheelchair on the next trip down. When his chair needs repair, sometimes it is several days before we can fly the part in and make repairs. This will take a lot of pressure off of both of us. We really enjoyed the great Mother's/Tribute Day in Abaco. We used the yet unfinished classroom building for the first time. The fact that the windows and doors are not on yet, added to the coolness. Workers are putting the finish coat to the inside walls, and we hope to get the openings closed up before we get hit with the first Hurricane if they come our way again. There have been eight responses to the invitation recently in Marsh Harbour, asking for prayers. This is a sign of spiritual growth.

The group from Auburn, Alabama will soon be arriving in Freeport for a busy week of activity and service and fellowship. They will be a great encouragement to the local congregation. Teacher Training is on the agenda with other growth activities. Each evening will be active. The congregation has been making great strides with World Bible School. They too have been handing (rather than mailing) the lessons to those interested. More than 50 students are active at this time. I have ordered more materials for the Auburn group to use in seeking new prospects. Dinah and I plan to spend several days with them.

I delivered a number of boxes of tracts and study materials to Exuma last week. I had intended on staying in the lower Islands a couple of days, but had a "burn out" on my tail pipe on the plane. The bottom two inches had rusted out and I was doing a patch job to get back to Abaco where proper stainless steel repairs could be made. The congregations from the Chattanooga area are in Exuma this week doing evangelistic work. We are very thankful for their outreach. We did get to see Steve and Suzette and meet our newest brother. Dinah and I hope to be back down that way soon, and also visit Long Island and Cat Island as well.

We are still giving a helping hand to the victims of last year's Hurricanes. There is so much damage and many still have blue tarps on roofs. Even minimal Hurricanes will bring heavy damage. We pass on the gratitude expressed by all the victims. Some of the money given lately has been to help shore up homes for the coming season. Thank you again for all of the love and compassion, and for the sacrifice shared.

Yesterday, I got two pictures from Benny Morton circa: 1956. As far as I know they show some of the first Baptisms in the Bahamas. Benny, you may remember is from Eleuthera and was the one who baptized Bill Miller in Nassau. The picture shows Telford Roberts who was baptized 49 years ago. He has come back to the Church in Marsh Harbour, he recently began a Teacher Training Program being conducted by the brethren at Palm Beach Lakes, in West Palm. The other Wednesday night, I heard him teach the men's class. That was also a thrill for Benny who now lives in the Detroit area.

We will have some changes to our Web Page as soon as Jerry Pickup is able to get to them. We plan on sending him more new pictures to update the old ones. There will also be a link to view the group of Young People who gave so much for Bibles. We are thankful to Young People everywhere for their dedication We may remember a year or so ago that the Youth in Auburn, Alabama made large contributions to help Lincoln Young and to assist with the new engine on the plane.

We continue to thank you for your concern and prayers. Checks can be made to Bahama Mission Church of Christ, and sent:
